However, some travelers have experienced difficulties with incorrect navigation to the trailhead, recommending Aranga Beach as the preferred access point.

"This is the Lookout point for the Maunganui Bluff Track. The view is great and very worth it after the long walk. Try to choose a good weather day so you have good visibility at 90 miles beach, Kai Iwi Lakes and also for some great photos."

Anna S

"Would not recommend trying to access from Waitapu Rd. Used google maps to navigate here, which led us to a trailhead at the end of Waitapu Rd. The instructions were to follow the orange markers for 1km. After 15 minutes of walking the trail went cold in the middle of a farm field.

Ended up driving to Aranga Beach and discovered another trailhead entrance for Maunganui Bluff trail. After only a 5 minute hike with occasional moderately steep inclines we were afforded amazing views of the Tasman Sea."

Allen Sefranek

"Well worth the walk, real nice view on a good day"
