"We were very fortunate to have a local guide who is also one of the marvellous volunteers that help keep the track in great shape. What a fabulous ride! I rated this my favourite in the South Island. It was mostly easy with a few moderate challenges called undulations! Loved being by the Waiau River. Great to see a school party using the track too. Amazing views of the natural beauty of this part of Fiordland. With our local guide providing a personal commentary, we were indeed spoilt. Thanks to Lester for the full experience and Melva for the morning tea when she joined us for some of the ride. We plan to be back again."
Marian Takarangi-Gavaghan
"A lovely ride between 2 Fiordland Lakes alongside the Waiau River for much of the time. Majestic Fiordland mountains as a backdrop most of the way. Good track surface with a couple of hairpins and steep climbs to keep riders alert. There is a narrow piece of 150m where riders are encouraged to dismount."
Moira Fraser
"A new 2017 walking and cycling trail section Entry Point Takes you to the Wilds of the primal Waiau River Flats to the South and the Ancient Beach Forest of Horseshoe bend to the North."
