Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Bodin Church for its historical charm, Romanesque architecture, and the unique ship hanging from the ceiling. The church's exceptional acoustics and world-class organ make it a fantastic venue for concerts. While not a bustling tourist spot, its peaceful surroundings, including a cemetery and farmyard, offer a serene experience.

"A medieval church featuring romanesque architecture. Smells of history, dust and creaky old wood. Christmas midnight mass is magical. The organ is world class. If you get a chance to go to a concert here it will be good, whoever is playing or singing... guaranteed! I've sung here myself and it's an ethereal experience. A wander through the nearby cemetery and the neighboring public farmyard with duckpond is a good way to round off the Bodinkirke experience. Notice the ship hanging from the ceiling, a feature in most if not all Norwegian churches, but at Bodin it seems to be organic to architecture, grown right out of the green painted wood of the balcony and straight backed pews."

"Beautiful little church originally built in the 13th century. Located in a lovely area."

Marko Tanninen

"We went to this nice church expecting some good photo opportunities. This church is not a tourist hotspot as it is a little bit outside of Bodo. From the outside the church looked very good and interesting. Unfortunately on the day we went there, there was a funeral in process. Now you can't bump in with a big smile and take pictures - this would be disrespectful. So we sadly left without entering."
