"Lake Valencia is a potential tourist destination. Until recently, access was only by river, with a three-hour downhill journey and a four-hour cross-country journey (Puerto Maldonado). Currently, they are constructing the Sudadero-Lake Valencia highway (48 km) (GOREMAD-PEMD). Getting to Lake Valencia will take between 1:30 and 2 hours by car or motorcycle.
Residents who engage in fishing, farming, etc., will be able to export their products; and tourism will be able to develop, making Lake Valencia a Regional Tourist Destination."
