Reviews Summary

Visitors are consistently impressed by the Our Lady of Light Church's stunning restoration, noting its architectural beauty and the powerful story of resilience behind its reconstruction after the 2013 earthquake. The serene atmosphere makes it a peaceful place for reflection, though some mention the heat during midday visits.

"Earlier today, we passed by the church and decided to drop by and marvel at its architectural prowess. Since this was destroyed during the last earthquake back in 2013, and it was just completely restored in 2021.

Most of its original foundation had been replaced and now stands a church which withstood 2013’s wrath.

It was pretty hot, yes, only a few large trees but the wind earlier was blowy. Exactly what we wanted under the blazing heat."

Ty Abad

"I'm not really sure why I'm reviewing a church. The reason we visited, and I drove 2 hours, is because my lola was born and raised in Loon. She's always telling stories about this church and I just had to visit.

The place was serene, mostly because it was a weekday and lockdown was still somehow in effect. Come visit."

Red Abalde

"It is a special place. 2013 earthquake made this magnificent church a pile of rubble. They are building a concrete structure and using the old stone blocks as facade. In that way the keep the ancestors prayers alive and among use. I think this a a nice approach."
