Reviews Summary

Visitors are captivated by the serene beauty and unique architecture of Talasnal Schist Village, often describing it as a step back in time. The peaceful atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings are frequently praised. However, some note the limited amenities and the potential for it to feel too quiet or empty for those seeking more activity.

"The legendary village was empty when I visited it. The most interesting thing is that there is a walking trail from the castle of Lousa and most of the tourists don't know about its existence."

Oleh Shpytko

"The passage through the road, almost escapes us the presence of the Casal Novo. The village develops in the slope fold, in a sharp slope, oriented to the north, and the tree surrounding the village does not allow one to perceive its profile. The urban mesh corresponds almost exclusively to the axis created by the path that crosses the village in the ascending-descendant direction, and that the connection to the Sanctuary of Nª Srª da Piedade. Two or three perpendicular alleys and a few side entrances in public enjoyment spaces break the continuum of buildings that, on one and the other side, are curved.
From the thin of the village you can observe Lousã and its castle."

Artur Victoria

"Gorgeous views of the surrounding landscape, though perhaps not quite as impactful as those of Talasnal or Chiqueiro. It sits on many of the hiking routes in the area, so do make sure you stop and take a breather."
