"A beautiful and welcoming church. So rare in Porto to find a church that does not charge you to come in and forbid photos."
Keith Bauman
"Baroque and Rococo religious architecture. Church with a single nave and main chapel on a longitudinal plan with lower volumes attached to the flanks, corresponding to the new sacristy and the old sacristy. Gable roof and coverage of the nave and main chapel in barrel vault with relief stucco. Outside, pairs of colossal Tuscan pilasters on the corners of the nave and chancel, extended over the cornice by plinths on which high pyramidal corochs rest, giving the building a strong sense of verticality. Main facade covered in tiles, with portal flanked by two pairs of Corinthian columns and corbels on pedestals, which support a triangular pediment interrupted by the coat of arms of Bishop D. Frei António de Sousa."
