Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the beautiful trails and abundant wildlife, including butterflies and lizards, offering a unique natural experience. However, the challenging, narrow access roads and poorly marked trails require significant caution and preparation. Some caves have accessibility issues due to disrepair.

"Had a great hike. The gps led us to the wrong spot but we made our way to the information station. The man there helped with a map, and advice on trail conditions including two plants which he described as similar to poison ivy. I was able to look them up, and give they're related to nettles. Only saw a few and they weren't on the trail. I still managed to get into some, but it wasn't bad at all. (Last 3 pictures for reference)

The hike was not bad, but you definitely want good foot wear. Mostly because it's rocky and twisting an ankle is easy. Parts of the trail to the Cave were a little sketchy, but not enough to discourage me.

Took about an 2.5 hours for a complete in and out on the route we were told to take. The first close cave was closed because the stairs were in an exceptionally bad state of disrepair.

The trails were verybeautiful. Once we got in the butterflies we're fantastic. Tons of lizards including the anole and Common Puerto Rico lizard (I didn't know the island had it's own lizard.) we also saw quite a few birds including banana quits and the Puerto Rican lizard Cuckoo (didn't know they their own bird either!)

Made it to the cave and my phone flashlight was enough, but I should have carried a better one up any way. I definitely recommend hiking here.

Bring lots of water!"

"This hike is not for the weak. On the way there, super narrow roads. Make sure to keep your hand on the horn and beep when going around bends. On the trail, super narrow paths, most are overgrown. I hiked all the way to Cueva Quentin Rivera and had to slide under a tree at one point, if that tells you anything lol. In total, it took me about three hours (I’m a slow walker). The trails are not well-marked, so I would suggest putting your destination (either Cueva) into google maps and heading relatively in those directions. Currently, the stairs to Cueva del Viento are severely dilapidated. Despite these unexpected obstacles, I enjoyed this hike."

"We hiked for hours. There are many trails, some with caves and some without. Some small, some big. There was an observation tower overseeing at least a mile in each direction. The caves should be marked a bit better than they were, but we got around nonetheless. The roads are very narrow. So to not get into a collision I suggest sounding the horn around corners and up hills. We did see only one other couple hiking however. otherwise no one around anywhere.... Just the occasional fellow driver. This couple hiking were 2 men acting strangely upon entering one of the caves. Needless to say we didn't stop to observe that cave too long. My hope for you, friendly fellow travelers, is to be aware of your surroundings and travel safely. Namaste."
