Reviews Summary

Puga Hot Springs offers a surreal and unique natural experience, blending geothermal wonders with unexpected green landscapes and wildlife. While the journey is challenging and the sulfur smell is noticeable, visitors are rewarded with a visually stunning and potentially therapeutic environment. It's highly recommended for those seeking offbeat beauty and solitude in Ladakh.

"Visiting Puga Hot Springs was like stepping into another world. The contrast of rising steam against the soft, green mounds was absolutely surreal. It felt as if nature had designed a secret spa in the heart of Ladakh.

The grassy lawn area was unexpected and refreshing. Amid the dry, rugged terrain of the region, these lush green patches felt magical—soft underfoot, cool despite the hot springs nearby, and incredibly peaceful.

The blend of geothermal activity and greenery is unlike anything I’ve seen. Steam curled into the sky as wild horses grazed nearby, and the silence was only broken by the sound of bubbling water and chirping birds.

It’s not the easiest place to reach, but the journey is well worth it. If you’re a nature lover or someone looking for offbeat beauty, the Puga green lawns and hot springs will leave a lasting impression.

Highly recommended for travelers seeking raw beauty, solitude, and something truly unique in Ladakh."

"It is a hot water spring, at 4 hrs from Leh. A plain grassland where one would find horses, sheep and yaks grazing, birds fluttering around and the spring spouting hot water.
But people need to be warned that it is a swamp area around the spring and crossing it could be very tricky.
It would not be worth the effort to travel all the way to the place except when en route to Hanle or Tso Moriri."

Shabbir Baldiwala

"There is a lot of hype surrounding this place that I recently visited in June. The overall area had a strong odor similar of rotten eggs due to the presence of sulfur in the soil. However it was fascinating to witness the hot springs, which are renowned for their therapeutic properties, making them a popular spot for both locals and tourists seeking relaxation. The local community has established a small bathing area with changing rooms, ensuring that visitors can enjoy the hot springs comfortably."
