"Must see!"

"Izvoranu-Geblescu Cula
A small museum in a relatively isolated area, which presents a fragment of our history. Traditional architecture, with a specific defense of the nobles of the time - Izvoranu, Geblescu and later Prince Filip Bibescu, grandson of Prince Alexandru Bibescu. In fact, the Bibescu family is currently found in various guises throughout the Oltenia area, both at the neighboring Cernătescu Cula, but also, for example, at Podgoria Corcova.
There is a rich collection of Oltenia costumes, with a special remark for the rare ones, which contain a large amount of silver in the stitching.
A wooden "cat's ladder", with an antiquity lost in the mists of time, common in Romanian tradition, particularly caught my attention. Brancusi, in his last work "The Rooster" takes up this motif through an exceptional work and defines his own creation - an opening towards the sky and knowledge, a new era. In fact, later he defined "The Rooster is me!" - expressing his vision... awakening, towards a new era. This representation "The Rooster" can thus be associated as his only self-portrait.
Online ticket - 15 lei/adult valid for 3 objectives of Dolj county.
