"Yesterday we went to the play "Zayushkina Izbushka" (Hare's Hut). My son is 2.8 years old, and it was his first time at a puppet theater. And what does he see?! He sees ordinary plush toys, like he has at home, and an aunt who controls them and speaks for them. You might ask, "What's so special about that?" There's no magic, no fairy tale, just an aunt who doesn't even hide under the table. My child left the performance and said he didn't like it because the aunt was mean! So he wasn't looking at the puppets. He was looking at the aunt. Naturally. I'm a native of Rostov-on-Don and went to puppet theater all my childhood. Previously, you could barely see the puppeteer in a play. And I think that's how it should be in a play, especially for little ones. It creates a magical atmosphere, as if the puppets themselves are alive and it's unclear who's controlling them. Secondly, the performances previously featured puppets with opening mouths and moving arms and legs. But excuse me, I can take ordinary toys and put on a show for my child at home for free. I have a house at home, a hare, a fox, and so on.
Then the actress sang to a recording. I think it would have been possible to sing two children's songs live... Especially since it's an intimate stage, a small hall.
Basically, this is a complete farce, a home-made production, not art. The actress is certainly funny, no doubt about it, but the director is ashamed. It costs 800 rubles for two. The prices are exorbitant. As a result, the child immediately knows that someone is controlling the puppets and that there is no fairy tale.
And another unpleasant detail. But here are questions for the parents. Why constantly retell and comment on what's happening on stage?! "Look, the fox has come, look, the fox is bullying the bunny." I think it's pretty obvious what's happening on stage. As a result, every parent is mumbling something at the top of their lungs to their child. And those children and parents who are trying to immerse themselves in the action are forced to listen to this mumbling in the background. I think the administrators should tactfully ask parents at the beginning of the performance to allow their children to watch the show independently without their commentary.
And getting back to the main point, the performance "Zayushkina Izbushka" is a disgrace. The Ministry of Culture should know about this. And this is a famous puppet theater. It's a shame things have turned out this way."
