Visitors consistently praise Kovilj Monastery for its profound peace, spiritual atmosphere, and exceptional monastic hospitality. Many highlight meaningful interactions with monks and the beauty of the surrounding nature. The monastery's store, offering unique souvenirs like its famous rakija, is also a popular draw. While the experience is overwhelmingly positive, some may find the limited dining options directly at the monastery a point to consider.
"I visited the monastery with my friend at the beginning of the summer of 2020. They came with the goal of confession. With the blessing of Bishop Hesychius, who is the abbot of the monastery, only he can confess.
We used the opportunity to visit the monastery itself, but also the beautiful surroundings. We were both delighted with the harmony that reigned in the complete environment. We also spent some time on the river with fishermen who told us what baits they use and what fish they catch.
After the tour, we stopped at the monastery store and bought souvenirs to remind us of this wonderful monastery and the time we spent that day together.
We talked about the monastery itself and the monastery structure with one of the monks from the monastery fraternity.
I hope to visit the monastery again soon.
