What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Center Rog is praised for its modern architecture, abundant natural light, and functional public workspace with free WiFi. Visitors appreciate the glimpse into creative studios and the resources offered by the ROG Lab. However, significant drawbacks include inconsistent climate control, with the space being too hot in summer and cold in winter, and some find the on-site cafe overpriced. There's also a sentiment among some that the center has become overly commercialized, losing its original artistic community feel.
"Nice place to work for a day. There are public tables, free WiFi, air conditioning, a cafe, free bathrooms. Lots of creative studios with glass doors to look at.
The building itself is well designed, with lots of natural light. Not too crowded or too loud.
Definitely a nice place to visit!"

"I don’t really understand this place. It had potential to be a nice place to work at, but they made it with zero ventilation and zero AC and hero heating. In summer it’s a greenhouse and you’re sweating like a pig. In winter it’s cold and your shivering. The coffee shop is overpriced garbage. The library is barebones. The workshops cost 300€ for like a couple of hours of some random thing. Can’t even open the 700kg door without cutting yourself.
Who is this for? It’s a taxpayer subsidized kindergarten for green hair liberals to make their lgbt colouring books."
Adnan
"Came hoping to see a vibrant and autonomous artist community, but was disappointed to see what has replaced it. Feels very commercial and uninteresting, disappointed to hear the original community that made the old factory into the cultural center it used to be was evicted by the city"

However, it's crucial to be prepared for potential climate control issues. Bringing layers of clothing is recommended, as some visitors have found the space too hot or too cold. While the cafe is convenient, be mindful of its pricing. Overall, it's a great spot for a productive day, provided you can adapt to the environmental conditions.
🎨 Artists & Makers
However, some visitors feel the center has lost its original artistic soul, becoming more commercial. If you're seeking a purely bohemian, artist-run space, you might find it leans more towards a structured, modern creative hub. However, the narrative surrounding Center Rog is complex. Some visitors express disappointment, feeling that the space has become overly commercialized and has lost the spirit of the original autonomous artist community that once thrived in the old factory. There are reports of the original community being displaced, leading to a perception of a shift towards a more corporate or less authentic artistic environment.
On the other hand, the ROG Lab and FabLab within Center Rog offer tangible resources for makers and innovators. These facilities provide access to advanced machinery and training, supporting the development of new projects and fostering a hands-on creative culture. This duality – the tension between commercial interests and grassroots creativity – is a key aspect of understanding Center Rog's current identity.
