"The fortress is a remarkable historical site spread across acres of land, carefully preserved by Gongju City.
We visited without knowing much beforehand, expecting to see an intact fort or palace; but instead found the remains of where the palace once stood.
The site features informative markers and artifacts that have been excavated over time. Walking along the fortress walls was a highlight, especially when we reached a viewpoint overlooking all of Gongju.
>> Overall, it was a really pleasant and enriching experience."

"A walk along the castle walls offers a truly special experience. I recommend visiting in the fall, but the spring cherry blossom season is also said to be beautiful. It was the second capital of the ancient Baekje period. As a result of the relocation of the first capital, it was designed specifically for defense. Be careful of steep slopes and slippery spots along the walk, as you may fall. The paths within the castle walls are wide and safe."

"I went one evening with family and it was lovely. It was a little quiet but well worth visiting for the views of the river and the lights shining on the water.
The architecture was well preserved and there was a performance going on. I would certainly recommend to visit if you are in the area and would definitely return during the day to take some better photos."
