Visitors find Muhudu Maha Viharaya a beautiful and historically significant site, particularly appreciating the striking white stupa overlooking the ocean. "It was a very nice place but the sun is very hot and had to walk with the statues under a very hot climate..
anyway it’s a very beautiful place with those KASA TREES"
Ranga Thilakarathna
"This is supposed to be the place where Vihara Maha Devi landed. There is a bo tree, statue and pagoda to see after walking about 200 metres. They are all new constructions. As there is no tree, better to wear a hat. There are some ruins to see near the temple down the road."
Nuwan Gunarathne
"There are some remains of the ancient temple structure, a Bo tree that adds to the calm setting and a stupa that seems to be maintained. The place is quite spacious and overlooks the ocean, which gives it a nice backdrop. There’s not a lot of information displayed about the history but overall, it's a decent place to visit if you're nearby"
