What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
ZALA Park Zanzibar offers a mixed bag of experiences. Visitors appreciate the opportunity to learn about local animals and enjoy the unique mangrove canoe tours. However, some find the park to be small and have concerns about animal welfare and staff knowledge, suggesting alternatives like the Jozani Sea Turtle Sanctuary for a more impactful experience.
"Beautiful place! Wonderful animals and fantastic guides. This place deserves more attention from tourists in Zanzibar."
Aleksandar Nedeljkov
"Great place to learn about a lot of different animals and the guides are also very helpful! Also you can do Kanu Tours in the mangroves River which are very interesting. It’s a must if you are in Jozani/Zanzibar"
Justus Falkenstein
"A very small park (it's even difficult to call it a park). Turtles, lizards, crabs, rabbits, one small python and one chameleon the size of a pack of cigarettes. The worker doesn't know anything about animals, you won't get any new information; at first he couldn't find a chameleon on a tree, and then he mercilessly shook it to the ground. We felt sorry for the chameleon and other animals and we left this place. I do not recommend visiting.
It is better to go to the "Jozani Sea Turtle and Tortoise Sanctuary", it is very interesting there."
