The authentic Trinidadian cuisine is also a major highlight. While the drive can be steep, the overall experience is described as unique, mesmerizing, and highly recommended for nature lovers.
"I found Yerette home of the hummingbird the night before our visit. Theo was a great host and incredibly knowledgeable about hummingbirds and even got my husband interested in these precious birds. They receive 100s and sometimes 1000s of birds at their home depending on the time of the year. It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Gloria treated us to authentic Trinidad cuisine for lunch and I must say it was simply scrumptious."

"We recently took a quick trip to Trinidad and visited this unique place.
It is located in a residence of Mr and Mrs Ferguson, located in the hills of Maracas St Joseph with some steep inclines so be prepared for the drive.
We received a lecture about the fascinating humming birds of 🇹🇹 as well as a delicious breakfast featuring local dishes and sorrel/ teas.
We were lucky enough to see the rare Tufted Coquette (the small humming bird with the cool orange colored “hairstyle!”) and I captured an image to share.
Photographers, birders and folks up for a unique local experience will appreciate this place.
I’m embarrassed to say I was not familiar with this place before as it has been around for 13 years."
