An impromptu visit to The Roost at Cuerden valley park turned out to be a lovely night. The Roost is tucked away in a hidden garden. It’s an outdoor bar and kitchen serving burgers and pizzas. The atmosphere is relaxed and chilled, which was made even better with a cocktail. Our favour was the Cuerden gin fizz, featuring plums foraged from the gardens. Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Cuerden Valley Park for its beautiful scenery, well-maintained paths suitable for all ages and pets, and the pleasant atmosphere. The Cuerden View Cafe is a highlight for its good food and dog-friendly options. Some minor issues include overflowing bins during peak times and an unkempt reservoir.

"A nice scenic walk and clean for the majority. A couple of bins were overflowing though this was at the picnic area on a sunny day. The stream is clear and my dogs enjoyed running over the little footpath in the water and children were enjoying playing in there. People were picking wild blackberries, which were plentiful dotted around the area. I only took the short walk, however there are longer walks available with benches dotted along the way with beautiful views looking across the reserve and countryside."

"Absolutely beautiful park. Sometimes it can be really busy at other times it's lovely and quiet and you'll barely see anyone. The cafe there was very busy and service was slow but with limited cooking facilities that's not surprising. I noticed a distinct lack of recycling bins for the takeaway cups we purchased around the cafe which I think could be improved upon. There are limited litter bins in and around the park but in my opinion one should take one's own waste home with oneself. The park has seen a lot of changes to the pathways and places you're allowed to walk in after the hall was bought by private owners and it is sad that there are beautiful woods and pathways that are no longer accessible but such is life and 'progress'. The volunteers do a tremendous job of maintaining the area and nature has a way of making it's own mark creating a wonderfully natural beauty spot for us all to enjoy. I can't comment on the parking for this park as I walk to and from the area."
