"We parked on the layby on Windermere Road, parking for a couple of cars and no amenities here. From here, you can pick up a path through the woods. This heads up and over a stile into the area, be aware cows are in the area and can be inquisitive if you have a dog. There aree plenty of paths throughout the area to explore and plenty of wildlife spotted.
Brown Robin occupies the southern end of a low limestone hill above Grange over Sands. It is made up of roughly equal areas of woodland and grassland. The woodland is fairly typical of limestone woods in the area, being dominated by ash and hazel with yew forming dense stands in places."

"This is a gem of nature close to Grange over Sands. It is especially convenient for guests of the Cumbria Grand Hotel, Netherwood Hotel and Merlewood hpb complex. Parking is limited and it may be best to park in the station car park at Grange. Guided tours are often fully booked - see website."
Edward Tobin
"Great little reserve with lots going on in both woodland and meadow, close to Grange. Make sure you don't miss the homemade gate shutting device at the bottom of the main meadow. It's a classic case of re/upcycling and it's worked very well for some time now. Don't expect to meet anyone else apart from a few sheep and cattle and the wildlife.π"
