If you’re visiting Comrie, we always recommend stopping by Café 21 at Cultybraggan Camp – it’s such a warm and welcoming spot. Karen, along with her husband, son and fab team, serves up delicious cakes, a brilliant all-day breakfast and the most gorgeous coffee. Holly and I popped in to pick up a takeaway lunch for everyone back at The Hideaway – we ordered, grabbed a coffee (we couldn’t resist!)...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Cultybraggan Camp for its fascinating WW2 history, particularly the informative museum and the site's transformation into a community hub. The on-site café is a consistent highlight, offering delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. Some note the sporadic museum opening hours as a minor inconvenience.

"Lovely quiet Saturday visit while we were in the area camping. It was a nostalgic trip for me because I used to go there in the late nineties when it belonged to the MoD. It was interesting to learn more about the place as a PoW camp, and some of the stories. It was also lovely to see the old assault course taken over as a community orchard! I’m really pleased this place was handed over to the people of Comrie rather than being sold on and demolished."

"Just spent two nights here in one of the self-catering huts with my teenage son. He was very surprised when we rolled up, as I'd simply told him we were staying in a "caravan park"! We both found the history of the site fascinating, and were so impressed by how modern and bright the interior of our hut was. We were lucky enough to get access to the museum on the morning that we checked out, which was fantastic as we thought we would have to miss it due to sporadic opening hours. Such an interesting site, and with a fab cafe on site too, it's well worth a visit."

Jennifer LB

"Great little stopover, toilets available, cafe available from 08:00hrs. Showers too! £10 per night, feels safe. Museum is excellent, just remember to bring cash, ( I didn’t) , you still get an exacting and comprehensive history of the camp but leave feeling a tad guilty! Could be improved by installing EHU, but excellent nonetheless. We enjoyed it and shall return."
