"We've been to Hardwick Hall many times, but this was the first time we've been able to go around the ruins of the Old Hall. The building is owned by English Heritage but operated by National Trust, so NT members don't need to pay to go in.

A really fascinating early Tudor building, and the remains of the plasterwork are just amazing . It us also huge,,and it was a delight to climb to the upper stories. Well worth a visit."
