What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Eastnor Obelisk for its stunning panoramic views and the rewarding hike up Midsummer Hill, with the free parking and dog-friendly Deer Park being significant draws. However, some find the climb strenuous and suggest adding seating near the top for weary walkers. The lack of interpretive information about the Obelisk is also noted as a minor drawback.
"It was a long hike up to the Obelisk. Very tall structure, apparently 90ft tall! Wish you could go inside and climb to the top. Overall, good hike to get up there. Gets your blood pumping. I would definitely recommend walking up to get to the Obelisk."
Foley Minchella
"Some wonderful views on the climb up to the obelisk. Quite hard work for a couple of 76 year olds. A seat near the obelisk after a hard walk would be really useful & appreciated. Views of Eastnor Castle on the way up & the Malvern Hills once there are very good, making it worthwhile.
The Woodshed Cafe in the Deer Park provides food and refreshments either before or after the climb.
Also, which we appreciate being on small pensions, FREE parking.
A lot of people were there for easy walking in the Deer Park with their dogs.
It says it is the closest point with a car to access the obelisk."

"Amazing views, kept very clean. The paths are concrete around the deer park, pushchairs, scooters, and bikes can easily be ridden. Up to the obelisk, it's steep with loose uneven track, difficult for pushchairs. The woodshed cafe is welcoming after a trek, and great service."
