What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the impressive architecture and rich history of St. Michael and All Angels Churches, often highlighting unique features like standalone bell towers and diverse stained glass. While generally free to enter, some find tourist information overwhelming in certain areas. The churches are often described as peaceful and historically significant.
"You get spoilt. Not one painting of the last supper, but two! If you like to see pictures of the last supper St. Michael and All Angels is the place to go. I was informed that the bell tower had rock all to do with the church yet I'm pretty certain it rang, calling the sheep to prayer. You're probably aware I'm rather keen on most houses of the holy architecture but they ruined the interior of the bell tower by plastering it with tourist information. Mr. Disappointed (that's me, that is) didn't take any pictures of it. I'm not usually a fan of modern stained glass windows but check out the 1991 window with the cricket ball. It's mostly red..... like the cricket 🏏 ball. It stands out as different from the rest."

"Absolutely lovely church with an interesting structure. Lots of information about the history of the area and a temporary exhibit in the separate bell tower on bell ringing.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in Ledbury.
Wheelchair and pushchair accessible."
Alex McMullan
"Really big church with a separate bell tower. Some interesting stained glass windows, and "copies" of the last supper. One appears to be a fairly faithful copy, but the other is quite different! The bell tower has an exhibition on the history of the bells."

The exterior architecture, especially the tower and facade, is great for wide shots. Inside, focus on stained glass, altars, and unique monuments. Drone shots can capture the scale if permitted.

Natural light filtering through stained glass can create beautiful effects. Mid-morning or early afternoon often provides the best ambient light. Be mindful of darker areas.
Look for unique stained glass windows, intricate carvings, historical monuments, and the overall grandeur of the architecture. The 'Last Supper' copies are also notable subjects.
Use a tripod if possible for low-light conditions. A wider aperture can help isolate subjects, and a moderate ISO will minimize noise. Experiment with different angles to capture the scale.
