What parts of cardiff are atleast a bit green and good for a wildlife lover?
So, due to personal issues, i can't move out of cardiff like i want to and go to a nice area that's very green, but i can move to somewhere else in cardiff, what's a nice green area that's also convenient to live in (aka not far away from shops and such) If by some miracle…
Taff trail after the flood - still passable by bike?
Hia all - has any one commuted by bike along the Taf trail today? Hoping to ride tomorrow, but not sure if it's safe to do so - Council have reopened the park, but would appreciate info from Cardiff's bike commuting community if it's safe along there. Diolch!

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hailey Park is a tranquil, unfenced green space in Cardiff, praised for its riverside Taff Trail, sports pitches, and family-friendly play areas. While some find the new LTA booking system for tennis courts inconvenient, the park remains a beloved spot for dog walkers, cyclists, and those seeking a calmer alternative to busier city parks.
"Hailey’s park is a lovely quiet and laid back park in the outskirts of the Cardiff, at North Llandaff.
This unfenced park stretches across a tennis court and rugby/ football/ volleyball pitches to cycling and walking paths along the trail of river Taff and the Glamorgan canal.
The rather long trail across river Taff has dense trees on one side and some amazing riverine pebble beaches on the other side (hiding behind the stretch of bushes). There’s also 2 bridges across Taff, one of which is a railway bridge. This trail is ideal for outdoor picnics. Barbecuing also should be possible given that there are no explicit mentions of it being banned - but one has to be responsible by leaving the place tidy and not polluting/ disturbing the ecosystem.
On the other side of the trail are the parks. There are parks for kids and toddlers as well. There’s space for playing sports like rugby/ football/ volleyball and it can be alluded to the fact that Llandaff north sports club/ rugby club is located by this park.
There’s also free parking which can accommodate quite a good number of cars at the end of the trail.
It’s not always very busy, but might get busy during summers especially with the cyclists. The place seems to be well maintained with no any garbage spotted anywhere - possibly thanks to the responsible visitors.
This place also seems to be a very popular spot for dog walking. Spotted a lot of dog walking here.
Verdict: A good option if you want a calmer place in comparison with the other bigger names in the city such as the Bute park, roath park, Victoria park etc."

"Nice park which would have lightly riverside walls but they're building a pumping station so a lot of it is fenced off at the minute"

"There are tennis courts and rugby/ football pitches. I use the park as a cut through to more interesting walks along the Taff Trail and Glamorgan Canal.
You can do a pathed loop around the edges of park itself. Along the river side it is the cycle way though so you have to dodge bikes loads as there aren't two separate paths for walkers and bikes.
There is a free car park, yet there are no allocated disabled parking spaces. Parking spaces aren't marked and the car park tends to only fills up during peak times. No public toilets."
