What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Horsey Island for its stunning natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and tranquil atmosphere, making it a top spot for birdwatching and coastal walks. The tidal nature adds a unique element, though it requires careful planning. Some find the limited facilities and the need to check tides a minor inconvenience.
"Great place for bird watching next to Braunton Marsh. The sea barrier along the eastern end of the island was breached in 2017 leaving the island flooded at high tides. The island is owned by Devon Wildlife Trust since Nov 2017. One way to see the island is to walk along the South West Coastal Path on the Great Sea Wall between Velator Quay and Crow Point - you can also drive down a toll road (£2 coin operated barrier) just south of Velator Quay and park at Crow Point car park, a popular place for locals looking to get out for a walk, etc."

"A nice surprise to find a tranquil and sandy beach with so much wildlife ....great place to SUP too"
