What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Denham Lock a peaceful, green spot for walks and boating, with a pleasant cafe at the visitor centre. However, concerns about highly polluted water and reports of aggressive dogs detract from the experience, alongside costly parking.
"Parked at the country park, Google maps would have had me make a 90° left turn off a 60 dual carriageway otherwise! The county park was nearly £5 for 3hr park. There was a depressing but necessary yellow warning sign urging visitors not to go into or near the highly polluted water. The lock was rough, felt like a dump, boat knackers yard and a lock. The high water on the other side was stagnant with a bloated deer 🦌 carcass bobbin around. Apart from that and a dead pigeon we failed to see much wildlife.
Ok for dog walks so long as your dog doesn’t drink the water. Money needs to be spent to restore balance and help what would have been a beautiful spot. Really sad."
