What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Long Crendon Courthouse a fascinating glimpse into medieval architecture and village life, appreciating the historical information boards and the charming surrounding village. However, the steep stairs to the first floor present an accessibility challenge for some, and the limited opening days require careful planning.
"Steep stairs to enter first floor. Interesting building but rather too much historical reading if short of time. Lots of other thatched buildings in village too!"
Michael Rawlinson
"There is alot of information boards here! The building itself is historic with lovely wooden floorboards. There is a small guide leaflet (which you leave a small donation for). Great pub down the road. Plenty of street parking just outside. Would recommend a visit if you are interested in the architecture and local info."

"National Trust The old Courthouse in Long Crendon nr Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Fascinating old building open to the public. Climb a short number of steep stairs to the first floor area where all the history of this fascinating building is there you to discover described on board displayed around the single rpm of the upper floor. Long Crendon is a lovely large village which was chosen by the BBC as the Coronation village for Queen Elizabeth 2 coronation in 1953."
