What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise Normanby Hall Country Park for its beautiful grounds, family-friendly activities, and good value entry fees. The Walled Garden and parkland walks are frequently highlighted as enjoyable aspects. Some common criticisms include the limited and sometimes sold-out cafe menu, suggesting that bringing a picnic is a wise choice.
"We visited today and this review reflects our experience. On a nice sunny September day, beautiful location and grounds, plenty to do for families, kids and adults. Walled garden was a treat, cafe was nice and reasonable prices, £13 for two pieces of cake and coffee. Entry price also good at £8 per adult including parking. Look at the deer feeding times in winter as this must be great to see. All in all a great day out. Could benefit maybe from some more wildlife attractions, but cannot really fault this venue for a day out."

"A great day out with plenty to see! This is the former ancestral family home of Samantha Cameron, wife of our former Prime Minister David Cameron. The walled garden was beautiful and full of beautiful flowers, plants, and vegetable patches! The gardeners were friendly and informative! The house has been turned into an interactive museum depicting life of the families residing there. There’s plenty of parkland to walk around with a farming museum by the entrance. It’s full of farming machinery alongside memories of different trades/business of that era. There lots for kids to do, but the miniature railway had a sign saying it was open on Sundays. The cafe had limited/basic menu. So recommend you bring a picnic!!"

"Walled Garden is the highlight.
Plenty of country park to walk around.
Good value at £8 each includes Parking.
Cafe shows promise , some effort going into cooking, and pleasant service, unfortunately despite a very quiet day the lunch special had sold out by 1:15pm. Still better than many NT cafes."
