"Really interesting site - very small, but an outstanding example of a blockhouse (no, I didn't know either!)."

"Small ruin in Polruan. A steep walk down the hill from the clifftop car park, through the attractive port of Polruan. It won't take you long to look round as it's diddy as castles go, but you may like to tarry to enjoy the nautical vistas. Very pleasant. You can see it's sister castle of St Catherine's on the opposite side of the estuary. Catch the ferry across and see them both. That's what I did."
