Never posted before but here goes. So just last week my dad went to the Trafford centre and he said that it was half of it was closed down. Is this still true? If so, does anyone know why? Would love to hear from someone cuz I’m planning on going on Tuesday.

Is the trafford centre over rated?

I’m taking my wife and 2 young children on Friday, wanted to make a day of it, buy some toys etc maybe find some discounts, friend of mine says it’s over rated, is this true? Are the better/more fun places to go?

What possesses people to go to the Trafford Centre?

It’s absolutely rammed, queues to get in from the motorway. If you are a person that has been to the Trafford Centre today or yesterday, why?

What’s a Manchester life hack that everyone living here should know?

I saw a version of this for Liverpool and loved the advice everyone was giving. I'll start by recommending that you check the tram live departures and scheduled works way in advance - I've been tripped up by works on the Eccles line too often!

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Trafford Centre for its stunning, grand architecture and vast array of shops and dining options. The free parking is a significant draw, and the centre is noted for being clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. While generally positive, some may find the sheer size overwhelming, and specific store experiences can vary.

"The Trafford Centre, Manchester (Stop-off Impression)

Was a short visit !!

We recently stopped at The Trafford Centre on our way to Manchester Airport and were immediately impressed by the sheer scale and variety of the complex. It truly is an all-encompassing destination, not just a shopping mall.

As everyone says, the place is absolutely huge. Navigating the vast number of high-street and luxury stores, combined with the huge range of dining options (The Orient food court is spectacular), means you can find everything imaginable under one roof. The note about driving closer to where you want to go is crucial advice for first-time visitors—it definitely saves time!

What truly sets the Trafford Centre apart is its lavish, unorthodox architecture, featuring Baroque and Neo-Classical elements. With its grand domes, sweeping staircases, and beautiful, highly detailed interiors, it feels more like an extravagant palace than a typical shopping centre. This attention to design makes the experience feel very special.

The centre is remarkably well-managed and spotlessly clean, even in high-traffic areas. The facilities are excellent. While we visited during a quieter period, the management and layout suggest it handles crowds efficiently, though one can only imagine the sheer volume of people during the festive period!

All in all -
A massive, clean, and impressive hub of shopping, dining, and entertainment. It’s an easy and convenient stop with everything you need, wrapped up in truly magnificent architecture. Highly recommended if you are in the area."

"Went for Christmas and it looked incredible with all the lights, decorations, and food. It's a massive shopping centre and quite stunning too. You can definitely get your steps in when you look around the shops!

Very busy so it's hard to find a seat and some places are expensive, but it's to be expected with how many people go there and how nice the places are.

Definitely recommended:) (especially during Christmas!)"

"When you come here you will find

The shopping is great
Food hall is amazing
Visually spectacular

It’s got free parking which I find amazing. Places like this often try to cash in and get money of customers but not here

There are lots of shops and most of them are all massive.

The decor is amazing. Always reminds me of the titanic movie. If you come in though the food court you will find a massive staircase with a massive chandelier. Stunning to see.

It’s never busy busy so easy to get around and it’s not a complex design. Just go round in a circle.

Always clean and lots of seating

There is lots to do in the food court area. Cinema. Arcades etc so worth taking a pit stop here as I’m sure you will find what you’re looking for.

Keep up the great work guys and will be popping by soon.

Been coming here for so many years and never gets boring"
