Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Thursley National Nature Reserve's stunning natural beauty, particularly its expansive heathland and unique boardwalks, which are teeming with wildlife like dragonflies and lizards. It's praised as a peaceful escape and a hidden gem for nature lovers. However, some find the signage inconsistent, making navigation tricky, and note the lack of on-site facilities.

"Huge. Absolutely beautiful dragonflies lizards. Not too many dogs but it was a very hot day. Not suitable for wheelchair users but you can cycle except on the boardwalks where you have to push a bike. Signage for routes was inconsistent and we found it impossible to walk a loop and had to retrace our steps. Definitely large enough to get lost but Google maps worked and so we knew where we were."

"A hidden gem in Surrey!
Thursley Common is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve visited. The boardwalk trails, especially the Dragonfly Trail, are fantasticβ€”easy to walk and offer amazing views of wetlands, heathland, and wildlife. We spotted dragonflies, birds, and even a lizard! The paths are mostly flat and suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, though a bit narrow in places. It’s a perfect spot for a quiet nature walk, birdwatching, or just escaping the city. Highly recommend bringing water and snacks as there are no facilities on-site. A great day out for nature lovers and families alike!"

"I really liked it here, came on a bird watching mission to see a particular bird and I got what I came for πŸ˜€. Mixed landscape - half heathland and half wood so a good variety of birds. On the boardwalk area it was absolutely dragonfly central (but then the signs said it is a protected area for them). You can make a donation for parking which I was going to do, but I had no Internet there to load the app! One thing I would suggest is the odd bench."
