What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mirror Lake locations are widely praised for their stunning natural beauty and reflective waters, offering peaceful settings for relaxation and photography. Visitors enjoy hiking, picnicking, and the unique geological features at some sites. However, some locations can become very crowded during peak times, leading to noise and a diminished sense of tranquility. The presence of private property near some lakes can also detract from the pristine 'mirror' effect.
"Beautiful lake with excellent views. Picnic areas and volleyball pits. Other than warmth, this lake and beach has everything you want for a summer visit. Gets super crowded when it’s warm out though, so you wind up being subject to other people’s family drama and loud music. Also has walking/hiking trails and a decent mountain bike area."

"Beautiful lake with views of the mountains north of Anchorage. The land around the lake is all private except for a park on the north end, which pretty much ruins the whole "mirror" part of mirror lake. All pictures contain houses, boats, and yard junk. Still, it is a beautiful, peaceful setting. The lake was like glass when I arrived. Just as I was getting ready to take some pictures, ripples began appearing on the surface. Looking down the shoreline I saw a youth doing what youth do, throwing rocks into the water. So much for the mirror effect. Sigh."

"An impulsive stop as we traveled the mountain roads outside Anchorage, Mirror Lake lived up to it's name. It is stunning. We enjoyed walking the grounds, even after seeing a black bear just off the road as we entered the park! With a kayak, it would allow for a gorgeous day on the water but swimming is not allowed."
