After driving by dozens of times, I finally stopped for one of those "Scenic Overlook" signs. This one was just south of Arcadia, MI.
This is such a beautiful spot. We locked my keys in my car here one time and no one was able to come out for the night to help. We didn’t know what to do but luckily a nice mechanic saw what we were doing and stopped to helped us. Every time we drive by now we laugh and hope…

"As an avid hiker this place is heaven! I visited Porcupine Mountains & Pictured Rocks this year as well, and this place ranks just below those two places (which get way more attention). Miles of trails through the woods but also challenging sandy dunes with up & down hill trails. The parking lot is small, but I was here on a Saturday and it wasn’t full at all. You can skip the scenic overlook in my opinion, it’s a nice structure with plenty of benches, but the views are obstructed by overgrown weeds, and you’re better off heading to Baldy (the dune area) and just looping around there if you want to get more steps in. The signs strongly discouraged beach access from the dune, but it is technically possible to get down to the beach from the dune. Make sure to bring not only water but something with electrolytes. Pure Michigan beauty!"

"Beautiful. Well worth it. Overlook trail is well maintained, and all access so wheelchairs and strollers can see the lake. Rest of the trails are easy until Baldy Dune. Gets warm on sand leading to Baldy Dune. Part leading to the dune has stairs and then all sand. May be difficult for some. Watched a middle-aged couple take 30 min to climb back up from the shore. So don't let it fool you."
