Reviews Summary

Anclam Park and Pier is a pleasant spot with a nice sandy beach, a playground for kids, and a scenic pier perfect for sunset views. While parking is limited and water quality at the immediate edge has been noted as a concern by some, it remains a family-friendly and budget-friendly destination for a relaxing day out.

"Great beach with a kids’ park, picnic area, and scenic pier - perfect for the whole family, including your furry friends! The beach provides toys for the kids to play with, a foot-washing station to rinse off the sand, and convenient doggie bags at the entryway near the parking lot."

"Visited Sunday, July 20, 2025. The beach is Sandy and Nice and there’s a little park nearby with swings and things for kids. They also have a cute little box of toys to use on the beach. The only thing that was a problem is that the 1st foot into the water was all the dark green sludge or muck I’m not really sure what it is, it’s in the water- but it’s gross. I definitely wouldn’t swim there."

"Nice little park with a few amenities
Restrooms
Doggie bag station- dog friendly Park👍
Playground
Beach
Pier
Bench's to hang out watch a sun set or rise.

Only vehicles less than 20 ft will fir in this lot. Parking for about 12 cars under 20 ft. Seems like pickup truck, van, RV discrimination which is sad.

The restrooms were clean but very well used and really could be updated or refurbished.

The playground is great kids don't care what shape the playground is in they are happy to play in the dirt or mud. 5 Star kid approved.

The have a doggie station, no specific place for dogs to play but they can sit and hang out with you.

The Pier or causeway is maybe 100yfs into the water. You can fish, swim, just play on the rocks.

The beach is not wide, maybe 6 ft, but it is about 100yfs long and when we were there it was empty. But it is a nice sandy beach.

Parking is very tight if you are close to 20 ft long. Just park on the street. Both are currently free but they might put a fee on to pay for the restroom refurbishment."

Navigating Parking and Access

Parking at Anclam Park and Pier is a key consideration for visitors. The designated lot is small, with space for only about 12 vehicles, and strictly accommodates those under 20 feet in length. This means larger vehicles like pickup trucks, vans, and RVs will not fit. If you arrive in a larger vehicle or the lot is full, street parking is available and currently free, though this could change. Arriving early, especially on weekends, is highly recommended to secure a spot in the lot. Some visitors suggest that if parking is an issue, simply parking on the street is a viable alternative.

Access to the park and pier is generally straightforward once you've parked. The park itself offers amenities like restrooms, a playground, and picnic benches. The pier extends into the water, providing a unique perspective and access point for activities. While there's a doggie bag station, it's important to remember that pets are not allowed on the beach itself, which might be a point of confusion for some visitors.

Beach and Water Experience

The beach at Anclam Park and Pier is described as nice and sandy, offering a pleasant environment for relaxation. However, the swimming experience has received mixed reviews. Some visitors have reported encountering a 'dark green sludge or muck' at the very edge of the water, which they found unappealing and a deterrent to swimming. This suggests that while the beach is visually appealing, the water quality at the immediate shoreline might be a concern for those planning to swim.

Despite this, the beach is about 100 yards long and can be quite empty, offering a sense of tranquility. The pier provides an alternative way to enjoy the water, with opportunities for fishing or simply playing on the rocks. The park also offers a foot-washing station, which is a thoughtful amenity for rinsing off sand after spending time on the beach.
