Maybe a dumb question re: Lookout Mountain
I have been googling, looking at Google Maps, exploring this sub.....and I cannot find out where the parking/trail heads are for Lookout Mountain. So, sorry if this is obvious but I'm clueless Thanks!
Good rides starting from downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee
Here for a few days on vacation. Brought my all road/gravel bike. Looking for a few bike routes 2-4 hours starting downtown. Paths, trails and rough backroads are ideal. Trying to avoid busy thoroughfares. Thanks!

Strange stones on Lookout
Me and my friends have been hiking on Lookout lately, especially around the Guild Hardy trail, and found large deposits of this black rock there. It's somewhat shiny but pretty hard. It reminds me a lot of coal I have seen in Kentucky but it doesn't have the same texture. Anyoneβ¦

"Lovely trail, very well kept with lovely views. Walkers and cyclists use the very wide, large gravel space. About a mile from the parking lot to Ruby Falls. Limited parking at lower space. Would recommend parking up at Ruby Falls. There are lots of spaces next to the trail entrance up there."

"Dog-friendly, a relatively flat trail that was easy to walk. Being able to walk beneath the Incline was a small treat. There were two walking bridges that gave a decent view of the city. There were some trails that branched off of this one. I also spotted a few people climbing some boulders. The trail will lead you to Ruby Falls parking lot, but it doesn't end there. Just keep walking."
L Strick
"Beautiful!!! Definitely not for beginners. However, I did see some kids. Wear shoes with good tread!!! Markers throughout the trail to guide you. Beautifulllll waterfalls! And then there's the bluehole that's almost clear and blue in color. So worth it and pretty! There was even a large and surreal cave!"
