Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Lovers Key State Park for its beautiful, spacious beaches and abundant shelling opportunities. The park's natural beauty and wildlife sightings are major draws, though some mention mosquitoes on trails and occasional jet ski disturbances near shore. The tram service and friendly staff are also frequently highlighted as positives.
"My husband saw somewhere that this was a good place to see spoonbills but I’m not sure if that is true.
We did not see as much wildlife as we thought we were gonna see we went on the outside trail. I think it was called black something or I can’t quite remember. There was a couple areas that were caution taped off some of them made sense some of them didn’t make sense. The trail was eroding into the water a little bit, but not an excessive amount.
The mosquitoes were kind of bad, but not the worst ever my repellent was not working. There was some very ancient in elevation by a couple feet on the trail so I thought that was kind of nice.
We saw quite a few gopher tortoises, and that was pretty awesome. It was the first time I saw them in the wild.
There was no one working the entry booth when we got there. And it was a Sunday so the discovery center was closed, but thankfully the bathroom was still open."

"Really enjoy this State Park! Well worth the visit and plenty of space along the beach to kick back and relax for the day. There is an $8 per day entry fee, that is good for the whole day, or you can get an annual pass for $60. They are coming back after the hurricanes and it is looking very nice. Parking fills up fast but there is an overflow area you can park and walk a short distance to get to the entry area. There you will find a shuttle that will get you close to the beach! Well worth the money and will be back again."
Randy Miller
"My family thought the beach was very nice. Lots of space and very clean. Easy 1/2 mile walk from the parking lot. The temporary store worked well so we could get ice cream. Coming back to rent kyacks tommorrow."
