Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Octagon Hall Museum for its fascinating blend of Civil War history and reported paranormal activity. The passionate volunteers and the unique octagonal architecture are frequently highlighted as major draws. While some find the self-guided exploration liberating, others wish for more structured tours.

"We didn't have much time in Franklin, KY, so picked The Octagon Hall Museum as our morning activity. The docent, who is also over the physical facility of the museum was excellent. He gave us a history of the house and its occupants. It was fascinating!

The tour is "on your own" after his presentation and nothing, except for the tools and one very steep set of stairs, is off limits.

This is a grass roots operation run entirely by volunteers."

"The woman who told us the home's pertinent history was very kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable. She seemed genuine in connecting with my family and willing to fulfill all needs. This home is rich in history and absolutely amazing to take a step back in time! Would definitely visit again."

Angela Basham

"Very cool history and attraction however i did not get to join the tour i arrived pretty late in the day while the last tour was goin on. So i just walked around the property to check out the beautiful scenery and old historical structures. I wish i would have made it in time to join the tour maybe next time but from what i learned on a drive is very interesting. Id love to join the tour and learn more. Its worth a stop just for the design of the octogon building. Its kinda like the cowboy boot shaped and cowboy hat shaped houses that i know of very neat by design."
