What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Harraseeket Historic District for its quintessential New England charm, well-preserved architecture, and the welcoming hospitality of local inns. The proximity to Freeport's vibrant shopping and dining scene is a significant draw, offering a perfect blend of historic tranquility and modern convenience. While some rooms might be considered a bit cramped, the overall experience is highly regarded for its comfort and classic appeal.
"New England charm throughout the property, we loved the fireplaced public areas on the first floor. Very clean and so convenient to downtown Freeport. The continental breakfast offered a variety of breads, muffins, a tasty muesli and granola along with yogurt and apples. The dining area may have been short staffed that morning - a bit chaotic but we guests were patient and all went well.
The pool is heated and we enjoyed use. We didn't use the exercise room but took a look (the shower is off that room) and there's a decent variety of equipment.
We will definitely look to return next time we are up in the area."

"The Inn and restaurant are top notch overall. The afternoon “tea” actually puts out a nice spread of cakes, cookies, cheese/crackers, fruit, etc. The food at their restaurant is excellent. We had the salmon and pork chops - terrific. The staff is very friendly, and the free breakfast is one of the best we’ve had. Their heated pool is great for a lap swim. The rooms are a little cramped but comfy. No room in the bathroom for your kits and no suitcase stand in the room. We had to put one on the only chair and the other on a table. Overall a classy and comfy place to stay."

"We have been staying at the Harraseeket Inn for years and have always enjoyed its charm and great hospitality. Our most recent visit was no exception. Although under new ownership we were pleased that service and comfort have remained consistent. Although we miss the Broad Arrow Tavern, which is now only used for special events, we did enjoy the new restaurant, Porter's, very much. At breakfast we were thrilled to see our old friend/server, Celeste, who has been with the Inn for 30+ years. Celeste is a main reason we come back year after year. Greeted with one of her warm hugs and beautiful smile, it's like coming home to family. Thank you for another wonderful stay."
