"I visited when the gate was closed so had to hike in down a long dirt road but it was worth it because I had the historic farmstead all to myself! Multiple trails through the woods, many beautiful fields, a small flock of sheep and spots overlooking the Harrasekett River and marshy areas. There's a self guided your and map online."

"I'm so glad we went to Pettengill Farm for their Farm Day. Music, crafts for the kids, farm animals, and sawyers. Theere was food there, but we didn't have any. The Boy Scouts were pressing apple cider and giving out samples. There was also a wagon ride, which we kept missing. We were able to tour the home. Don't expect a restored museum home. This place is in rough shape, but what a story the peeling wall paper and exposed lathe has to tell! We had a great tour of the grounds adjacent the house and met Millie Pettengill there in her garden. What a great day!"

"We experienced a wonderful autumn open house here - including horse drawn carriage rides, children's activities, exploration of the house (including the hand drawn sketches on the bedroom walls), and a lesson on salt water marsh hay and cows, held down at the waterside."
