"The 2024 Galveston Sandcastle Festival was place on September 21-22 at East Beach. The celebration included not only the popular sandcastle competition, but also live music, food trucks, and a vendor market. There are also some enjoyable activities for kids, such as face painting, sandcastle building lessons, and games. What a fantastic way for the whole family to spend a relaxed weekend at the beach."

"This is a really great family beach! I think it's my favorite out of all the ones in Galveston we've been to so far! Much less crowded than the others further up the shoreline, ample parking, a concession stand with food instead of just snacks, playground, bathrooms, beach chair and umbrella rentals, a lined walkway, and more. Yes, you pay for parking, but it's an all day pass, so if you leave then come back, just show them your parking pass.
