Reviews Summary

Visitors find Green Bottom Wildlife Management Area to be a quiet and beautiful spot for observing nature, particularly wildlife and marshland flora. While the trails are generally well-maintained, some reviewers note areas of overgrowth and a desire for more funding to improve facilities and upkeep. It's a great place for a peaceful nature walk, especially during dawn and dusk.

"Just a quick stop on my way north, parked at the office. Parking area a lil wonky due to large random stones sticking up near each car space. I took the direct path straight towards the river as it was partly gravel and I'm leery of weeds in the area (not a snake fan). Made it to the gravel bridge before turning back. Lots of birds and various plants, heard a bullfrog a few times, would like to explore more and seek more bird types and marshy views."

Shara Michaels

"Just off rt 2 outside of Huntington, this looks like a spectacular place to visit during dawn and dusk to observe wildlife. There is a boat launch, and it looks like lots of people use it. It's a little hot mid day as there is not too much shade, so be ready!

Management keeps the paths nicely mowed, but there really needs to be signs reminding people to take only pictures and leave only footprints. A rubbish bin is needed to help people do the right thing and pick up after themselves.

Otherwise, nice walk. Despite being invasive, the multiflora rose put out sweet smells. Watch for poison Ivy and hogweed!"

Fileve Tlaloc

"After spending all week hiking in the hills, it was fun to check out a different type of landscape. The trail is very easy to walk and takes you to a lookout that gives you a really good view of the swamp."
