"This was my 1st stop while visiting the city which was my 1st time. Park is pretty big with playground, restrooms and carousel. Park is across the street from the state capital building. Park has plenty of space for a picnic or host a variety of events. Pets are welcome however they must be leashed. Parking is free on weekends, the day I visited on 6/8 there was an event going on where everyone was wearing pink ."

"I visited from NY for the Puerto Rican festival. Very nice park, enjoyed the feast and loved the surrounding view of the buildings reminding me of Central Park in NYC. DId not care for the police officers attitudes at the end of event. Unprofessional and unexpectly rude towards the crowd. You gain respect when you deliver respect."

"I think this was my first time in a city and park that felt so peaceful. At times, it even felt like I was in an abandoned city — I’m not sure why. Maybe the cold keeps people indoors. Still, I found it to be a very cozy place, with its arches, the carousel, and those stone buildings in the English style that give it a special charm.
I had been warned that it might not be very safe at night, but honestly, I felt quite at ease — much more so than in the downtown areas of other cities I’ve visited.
I hope to return to Hartford, CT, and explore the places I missed, like the Capitol, museums, and parks."
