"This was our 28th state capitol to tour, and it was a pleasant experience. The dome, hanging staircases, and the House of Reps chamber were particular nice. Our tour guide was newer and while she didn't know some of the details of the building, she made up for it with being personable and not on autopilot.
You can enter the building as a guest on the west side, but for a tour you need to begin at the Legislative Building just to the west. There is a very nice cafe in the Legislative Building as well, with good food and reasonable prices."

"My first time visiting downtown Hartford while on reserve. I was blown away by all I saw. I just happen to stumble upon this beautiful castle while on my way to get food. I am crazy about architectural history and circled back to take a tour after I got my food. I ended up touring with a group from Trinity College. It was amazing. I am an historian by hobby and to add to my collection of knowledge was priceless. I loved visiting the rooms and sitting in the same chairs as representatives. And I couldn't get enough of the decor. The Capitol building is worth the visit."

"This could possibly be the most beautiful capital building I've ever seen from the outside. Unfortunately during my travels, I didn't get here until a Sunday, and they were closed and no tours were allowed. I will have to make it back here one day because I really do want to see the inside. Strolling around the building it is so ornate and so many sculptures around it as well. Set up atop the hill made for a breathtaking sight."
