Reviews Summary

Visitors love Dennison Ferry for its peaceful, secluded atmosphere and its ideal location for launching kayaks and canoes onto the Green River. The scenic drive and picnic area add to its charm. However, the rough access road and the occasional fast-driving rental vehicles detract from an otherwise perfect experience.

"Nice quiet ride down a winding rock road takes you to a clearing with picnic tables and steps leading down to the water. Perfect spot for rafting or kayaking. It was nice and peaceful."

"I,ve been using this sight for years to launch our Kayaks into the Green River. It’s secluded and works well for putting in your Kayaks and Canoes. This is a backwoods type road and it can be rough at times but is navigable. There is only a couple of picnic tables but it is a decent picnic sight if that’s what you are doing Please be advised that there are a couple of local Kayak rental places that drive entirely too fast on this road and create unsafe driving conditions at times. I’ve had near misses with them on numerous occasions. Overall it’s a good secluded point on Mammoth Cave National Park. It can be very peaceful. I do recommend using this area to launch your canoes and kayaks as well as a good secluded picnic sight. I would give it 5 stars if not for the kayak shuttle vehicles driving like idiots."

"Road to it is a bit rough (I'd recommend a truck or 4WD with high ground clearance) but it's a nice quiet area of the park, far away from the bustle of the visitor's center. Good place to grill lunch and launch your canoe."
