What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Turn Hole Tunnel an interesting historical site, though access is restricted by 'No Trespassing' signs. While some appreciate the eerie atmosphere and river views from the entrance, others note the lack of accessibility and potential safety hazards. It's a unique spot for photos, but caution is advised.
"The area seems quite the destinations for walking, biking and rafting and quite scenic. The cave or abandon railroad tunnel is not part of any of that it’s just sitting there. Still a tunnel is a tunnel. It’s quite a feeling to walk through it to the other side where it drops off into a river. The videos look very bright, but that’s because of a setting I had on my phone I would recommend a flashlight, but it’s not necessary."

"Not as dark inside as I expected, but it was a sunny day. Highly recommend taking a flashlight just in case. Watch your step! Visit soon, we heard today the park is planning on closing this for real, for good this year."

"Tunnel is not accessible. There is a sign in front that prohibits anyone from entering inside the tunnel. Can you go inside? Sure. But should you? According to the posted sign, NO. I'm assuming for safety reasons they do not want people going inside the tunnel. It is dark inside the tunnel and looks like it could present some issues for those who aren't prepared or who might have issues with mobility. It would've been kind of cool to walk through to the other side, however we did obey the sign and just took pictures from the entrance. Lots of places to explore or walk around and check out in this area as opposed to potentially injuring yourself to go into a tunnel that might present dangers due to the conditions inside. That's my opinion (speaking from a medical professional standpoint as well), it is best to stay safe and obey the signs."
