"The place is pretty good to go with the family, it feels fairly safe. You can see police around and there are security cameras. It’s the kind of spot where you can just sit down and relax while looking at the water. There’s plenty of green space, with some trees where you can catch some shade. Personally, I wouldn’t get into the water since there are lots of refineries around and they dump chemical waste into it.
The little beach is only open until sunset. Even if you’re just sitting on the sand looking at the water, they’ll make you leave once the sun goes down.
Some people bring speakers and blast Mexican music or reggaeton at full volume. Unfortunately, there are always folks who don’t respect others and think everyone has to listen to their music.
My wife went into the bathroom and said they were disgusting — even found poop on the floor.
Today was our first time visiting.
The good part is there’s a lot of green space to sit, and in our case, we stayed away from the noise, reggaeton, and ladies singing rancheras.
You definitely need to bring bug spray because as soon as the sun sets, the mosquitoes come out hungry.
The parking lot is pretty big."
