My fiancé is being sent to Lawton, Oklahoma for work so I will be there with our two young daughters in the next few weeks or so. We are going to be there anywhere up to 2 months. I would like to explore the area as much as possible during that time, but with an 8 month old and…

Lesser known hiking spots?
Moving back to home Oklahoma from North Carolina. Have been quite spoilt with the hiking in that state with the mountains. I’m well prepared for the lack of hiking trails ahead of me though. I do plan on taking my dogs to Black Mesa and the turner falls region for hiking. What…

Hi there! Planning to make the drive up to OK from Hou TX. Not sure where in OK to go but I’m hoping to see some waterfalls that I could possibly wade through because I can’t swim. Haha. Looking for hiking trails too! Best spots for visitors? Thanks for any insight!

The walking trails and creek are highlighted as particularly enjoyable. However, some reviews mention that facilities, such as restrooms and the potential lack of showers, could benefit from updates and maintenance.
"Beautiful location to walking trails. Full hookups. Our site was visited by turkeys and deer. A brook is running alongside. It's easy to get to. Close to Medicine Park and Wildlife Refuge and Mt. Scott. It's located on Ft. Sill Army Base. Will definitely go back."

"Nice little park. Eighteen or so level back-ins. Two non-electric, two 30 amp only, the balance 50 amp. The actual Medicine Creek borders the South, post's golf course lies to the North and East. Bordering the West is Apache Gate Road, a main heavy vehicle artery entering the post 1.5 miles to the North, through Apache Gate. This road is busy twice a weekday, otherwise, relatively quiet. It also affords close by access to Ft. Sill's amenities.
Campground is well run by off-site, third-party entity, no on site host. Very polite, professional and accommodating staff mans the phone lines.
If you are so inclined, you may easily visit two (there are more) on post cemeteries and see the final resting places of both Geronimo and Quanah Parker..."

"We were in space 1. It has no bbq, no table and the water hydrant leaks profusely. There are extra tables about 100 yards with grass growing all around them. The bathrooms are old but sinks, urinals, and toilets work on the male side my wife says only one sink in the woman's side works. For the price, one can't complain to much. But a little tlc would go along way in making thus a 5 star park. On a military base so you must have an ID card to access. Reservations are made on line."
