What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Hans Bethe House to be a well-preserved piece of history offering a great glimpse into the past and the lives of Manhattan Project scientists. While the interior suffered damage and has been restored, it still provides a tangible connection to this significant era. Some note it's closed on Sundays but can be viewed from outside.
"Visited on Sunday and this place is closed on Sundays but it was nice to walk around. Some window curtains are open which allows to take a peak inside. Original building from war time."

"Get your admission ticket a few houses down at the Los Alamos Historical Museum. The interior of the house was almost completely destroyed when the 80-year old furnace broke during the winter of 2013 and the water pipes burst. The historical society restored the home and placed a small museum in it. I like standing in historic places and when you compare this home with the digs of some entertainers, you know that the real movers and shakers are usually not living in palaces or towers. It is amazing to realize that you could see Trinity's flash (200 miles away) from the porch window of this house. Go and feel some history."

"Great glimpse into the past! History of Los Alamos and "The Gadget"."
