The future belongs to my son who is blind too and I will always advocate and fight to get him the tools he needs. I got to spend the weekend at the @americanprintinghouse for the blind in Louisville, Kentucky. I am part of their family connect parent advisory board and had the chance to learn about all the incredible educational tools and technology the APH has for blind children. My favorite pa...

Meet the Monarch! In the latest version of the Monarch #humanware and #americanprintinghouse added one handed mode, which has open more doors for me as a one handed Braille user to read, write, and explore graphics. I can’t wait to see where this takes me and my students through our education. #braille #brailleliteracymonth #brailleliteracy #americanprinthousefortheblind #APH #dotbydot #blind #dis...

The American Printing House for the Blind happens to be in our backyard and amazingly an option to visit via the Louisville Cultural Pass. We have visited the museum before, but not the full tour of the factory, where over 300 individuals work, ~10% of whom are people with visual diversity. We got to explore tactile graphics, see how long the spools of paper are (3 miles in length; 400 lbs!) for p...

Visitors consistently praise the American Printing House for the Blind Museum for its free admission, engaging guided tours, and educational exhibits. Many highlight the hands-on nature of the displays and the staff's knowledge and patience. While some note the gift shop is small, the overall experience is described as inspiring and valuable for fostering understanding and empathy.

"While visiting with our daughter and grandson here in Louisville, we wanted to help our grandson with his library summer pass and this was a location on the pass that was free. WOW what am amazing awesome place. We had a guided tour and the young lady that took us through the factory was so knowledgeable and very pleasant with a calm pleasant speaking tone. And very patience with questions from my 11 year old grandson. Who was so interesting and engaged. If you have a chance and are looking for an interesting educational place for the whole family you really need to go and take a tour. Small gift shop. Love the t-shirts they have for sale only $10.00 each. I have one from 7 years ago and I still wear it. Just love it."

"If you are taking a trip near Louisville, I highly recommend a stop. The staff was professional and friendly, and the museum is decent size (especially for free). Extremely well put together and design to be both kid and adult friendly. The tour was also hands on and designed to be educational for both kids and adults. Great way to teach kids how to be a little more accepting of others and to understand how we can use tools for the vision impaired in out own lives."

Anna Dickerson

"So thankful to have visited this historical landmark! The executives took the time to come and meet the group from Ohio State. They gave us a wonderful tour and were very throrough! Thank you for being such great hosts."
