"Beautiful!

This is an absolutely amazing cemetery with some gorgeous memorials. I could spend all day looking around and almost did!

There are some notable people resting here all across the board. From Colonel Harland Sanders of the KFC empire to world renowned boxer, Muhammad Ali to the NBA player Derek E Smith who invented the “high five” and more!

Sculptures of a husband and wife dancing, children playing, a magician and a little girl with the most beautiful memorial…Jesus holding the ropes to her playground swing. Class and beauty throughout the whole cemetery.

If you are looking for anyone notable, pick up a map or you will get lost for sure.

Highly recommend a stop!

"This is a very well-kept and peaceful cemetery that clearly holds the remains of many of Louisville’s most well-to-do residents. Many of the graves are intricately carved pieces of art, and the place is beautiful. It’s also somewhat maze-like. I visited in the morning and spent a little time admiring the stonework. It’s quite a sight if you enjoy such things."

Mateo Gebon

"I love visiting arboretums and gardens, as well as historic cemeteries, so this place was a must on our trip to Louisville. We visited on a Saturday morning with mostly local joggers enjoying the area. This place is ginormous and beautiful. I do wish they had more of the trees labeled with what they were."
